St. Patrick's offers quality education while using advanced Smart Board technology in every classroom. In addition, we provide:
St. Patrick’s School offers their students a blended learning environment. Equipped with 50 shared iPads and 30 shared Chromebooks, teachers and students in Grades PreK 3- 5th benefit from the individualized learning opportunities these devices offer.
St. Patrick’s School in Yorktown Heights and Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers are pleased with their technology partnership. In the Fall of 2015, St. Patrick's School implemented the same iPad program that is in place at Kennedy Catholic. The iPads are issued to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at St. Patrick's and are used to distribute, complete, and submit assignments. They also enable individualized learning supplements for study and homework such that students at different levels can learn at a more customized pace.
Kennedy Catholic's successful iPad technology program has not only enabled a textbook free environment and a streamlined assignment process, but has created a more customized learning opportunity for its students. While St. Patrick's is not textbook free, our students do enjoy a lighter book bag and the ability to receive their assignments using educational apps. Our teachers (and the environment!) also appreciate the significant reduction in photocopies.
This unique technology partnership between St. Patrick's and Kennedy Catholic has students, parents, and faculty very excited for the opportunities this provides. The willingness of the two schools to work together on this initiative shows a true commitment to advancement, and is key to the success of both students and teachers.
St. Patrick's provides a wonderful and enriching Spanish program for students in grades PreK through 8. Our students learn conversational Spanish, grammar, and vocabulary through fun and exciting activities.
St. Patrick’s School, recipient of a $150,000 grant from The Gawlicki Family Foundation, completed their Full STREAM Ahead Project in the fall of 2017. Each week students visit the lab where they learn proper typing technique, Digital Citizenship and internet safety, Microsoft and Google Suites, coding, robotics and 3D CAD design. They collaborate to create stop motion animation and videos and digital games. The STREAM Lab cultivates creative and critical thinking and develops 21st Century skills.
Pre-K students receive weekly computer/technology class in their classroom. They are taught about the computer components, internet safety and Digital Citizenship, and are introduced to coding. In addition, their math and language skills are reinforced using age appropriate programs.
St. Patrick’s School believes that a strong Visual and Performing Arts program is a vital part of the elementary curriculum because it promotes the key attributes of self-confidence and self-awareness. As studies continue to show, there is a large correlation between Arts participation and a student’s success in math, science, literature, and history. The Arts provide students with an outlet for creative expression, while also giving them opportunities to collaborate with their peers. Our Art program here at St. Patrick’s School provides students with a strong Visual Arts foundation.
St. Patrick's is proud to offer an advanced math program for 7th and 8th grade students. Our 7th grade students engage in an accelerated course that includes both 7th and 8th grade New York State Curriculum. Our 8th grade students prepare for the Algebra 1 Regents exam in combination with the New York State Curriculum for 9th grade. Historically, our students have an exceptional passing rate on the Algebra 1 Regents exam.
