Mr. John Amelio

Mr. Amelio has spent most of his career as an educator; serving a multitude of roles at private, independent, and parochial institutions. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Management and obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Mr. Amelio also holds a School Building Leader (SBL) License from the New York State Education Department. 

As a middle school instructor, Mr. Amelio designed curricula, instructed students in all core content areas, and oversaw the secondary-school exmissions process. As an administrator, he served in the capacity of Principal, Head of School and Assistant Headmaster at a number of schools within the state of New York.

He is thrilled to now serve St. Patrick’s School (and its school community) as its principal.

Mr. Amelio is an avid film-aficionado, creative writer, and sports enthusiast. He comes from an extensive Italian-American family and takes prides in his relationships with his 12 siblings and 21 nieces and nephews.
