Mrs. DeCarlo began as an educator at a private school in White Plains, NY, instructing middle/high school history and life skills and formally mentoring several students. For the past five years, she was an educator for the Northwest/South Bronx Archdiocese as the middle school social studies teacher and instructed science and English Language Arts. She earned her B.A. at Purchase College in History and is completing her graduate studies in Social Studies Education at Lehman College.
As an educator, Mrs. DeCarlo enjoys finding fun and creative ways to help keep her students engaged. She often incorporates critical thinking and cross-curricular activities into her lessons to encourage the skillful analyzing of content. In her free time, Mrs. DeCarlo likes spending time outside playing with her dog Kato, visiting the beach, staying active and healthy, and cooking for her husband. She is excited to be a part of the Saint Patricks family!
